EARLY YEARS FOUNDATION STAGE

The futures nursery works alongside the EYFS, which sets the standards for children’s learning and development. It is a play based guide, allowing children to explore in an environment that is safe and secure. The curriculum is child led and the key person will meet the needs of each unique child through consistent observations and planning.

The EYFS aims for every child to achieve the five’ Every child Matters,’ outcomes which are, staying safe, being healthy, Enjoying and achieving, making contribution and achieving economic wellbeing. The EYFS includes 7 areas of learning and development. We use this guideline to shape the educational activities in our nursery.

There are 3 prime areas and 4 specific areas.

3 prime areas:

Personal, social and emotional development.
Communication and Language development.
Physical development.

4 specific areas:

Literacy;
Mathematics;
Understanding the World; and
Expressive Arts and Design.
